Impression of UFO sighting

Impression of UFO sighting

There have been a number of UFO sightings in the UK recently, in fact Britain is probably one of the most active areas for seeing UFOs on the planet just lately.

Why is such a small country as Britain seeing so many UFOs? That is a good question, to which at present there is no answer.

Just a few weeks ago (on Christmas Eve) Andrew Freke, an amateur pilot for more than 15 years, spotted six pairs of mysterious bright orange lights flying above his Solihull home while he was smoking a cigarette at about 11pm.

At first he believed it was simply a plane from nearby Birmingham Airport but he quickly dismissed the idea because the lights were silently flying in a zig-zag pattern at about 150 miles-per-hour. Officials from nearby Birmingham Airport confirmed they had no aircraft matching the description in the area on Christmas Eve.

Many recent sightings of this nature have been put down to “Chinese Lanterns” and that might be a possible explanation. However, similar reports have been seen in many other countries.

A large percentage of the UFO sightings have taken place around the Birmingham and West Midlands area (quite a few have also been seen near Kidderminster).

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: “The MOD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity” adding “Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting or report.”

Sadly, this is the fate of most reports and perhaps a good reason why the subject of UFOs is ridiculed so often, and dismissed as the figment of people’s imagination. If the authorities were to take some of these sightings a little more seriously and investigate them, maybe we could make a better judgement knowing the facts?

Other reported sightings around the Birmingham area over the years have included a “streak of light” passing about 100 feet over a person’s house, a “red and silvery figure-of-eight type object”, a “crescent formation of maybe thirty lights”, and a popular sighting of “three lights in triangle formation”

The following article is one that I personally submitted to UFO Casebook almost four and a half years ago:

This UFO sighting report was sent in by a Lady living in the Birmingham area (UK). Although this was not her first sighting, it is the first time she has reported one.

Whilst travelling from Warwick with her daughter and heading towards North Birmingham along the M6 (at approximately 10.45pm-11.00pm), something caught her eye in a nearby field.

She was driving along at about 55-60 mph, on the inside lane of the motorway, when she saw a bright white light.

The object came down from the sky “at a very fast rate of speed and seemed to curve upwards as it approached the ground”

She did not stop her car to investigate further (this is difficult on a motorway) and is uncertain where the object went, it just appeared to vanish.

Her 16 year old daughter also witnessed the strange object.

It is difficult to guess the size of the object, but it appeared approximately 20-30 meters away from their vehicle.

The sighting took place on Wednesday the 10th of August 2005 (between 10.45pm and 11.00pm). We would love to hear from anyone else who might have seen this unusual light at around this time and area. It would also be interesting to receive information on any other sightings that include an object like this.

I’ve listed some of the other sightings seen around Birmingham HERE which go back a number of years. It is interesting to see how similar some of the sightings are.

For those living in the Birmingham (UK) and West Midlands area who wish to send in details of their own sightings (or other subjects), I would be happy to publish your reports on the Profindsearch Birmingham Guide. You can submit your articles HERE.

Introducing a new Birmingham (UK) Guide for the local community

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

The “Birmingham Guide” is the latest addition to the many services offered by Profindsearch.com. Although it still requires a few “finishing touches” most of the facilities are now operational.

In addition to advertising shops and services in the Birmingham and West Midlands area, there is also a Classified Ads section and a place to promote Forthcoming Events. Unlike other sites or guides, we welcome News reports from the local community and you don’t require any special skills or qualifications to get involved.

We want to hear about the things that are important to you, your friends, your neighbours and your street. Don’t worry about making a few spelling mistakes or grammatical errors, we will correct most of these for you, but without changing the style in which your message was written. These are not just “comments” or “posts” on some message board, these are real articles displayed in the News section!

It is our hope that local businesses and people will work together on this New Guide to produce a true community spirit and support each other in the best way they can.

In the very near future we hope to add many new features on the Guide, such as competitions (where you can win prizes), games, a personal section (for those seeking love and romance), a fund raising section for local charities, advice columns, an employment section and many more. Your suggestions for new features will always be welcome!

Although the payment facility for business adverts is not quite ready yet, you are very welcome to submit requests for an advert now. Our prices are incredibly low as you will see by clicking HERE.

The News and Forthcoming Events sections are fully operational and you can submit information immediately. All you need to do is register and await approval (which doesn’t take long). Once you are approved you can log in and submit information to the Guide (check our site for further information on this)

Check out the Birmingham Guide today and get involved. Help us to help you!

Osama bin Laden Tape – A message from the beyond!

Osama Seance

Osama Seance

Since having a “face-lift” (well, new head actually), we have only heard audio messages from “Osama bin Laden” and according to one report on the latest message “one can also hear that bin Laden is quite short of breath for a man who is just 52 years old, suggesting a possible health issue”

A possible “health issue”, are they kidding? The man is dead and has been for quite some time!

However, this does not stop the creators of Al Qaeda (the CIA) from continuing to use bin Laden’s name for propaganda purposes, with videos and audio recordings appearing at the most convenient times.

John Kiriakou, a former CIA officer and ABC News consultant said “This is the first real indication that we’ve had of a bin Laden health problem…. There have been rumors for years, but this is really the first solid evidence that there’s some sort of problem with his health”

It is interesting that the “health” issue has taken more importance than the content of the message, described as the usual “threats and rhetoric”

Kiriakou went on to add “This indicates to me that something is amiss. Perhaps it is a result of all these years living wherever it is he’s living – in a cave, in a series of tunnels, in a mud fort somewhere. Perhaps, his body just can’t take the strain of all these years living in the rough,”

“..why did he release the tape with the wheezing in it?” Kiriakou asks “Is it a chronic condition and he had to release the tape now because he’s not going to get any better? Or, was there some other reason for releasing the tape now?”

Could the “wheezing” be some allergic reaction to all the dust in that cave? Has he got a cold? Has the stress forced him to take up smoking? Or could it simply be the producers of the “bin Laden Show” are preparing us for the last episode of this saga?

President-elect Barack Obama has already mentioned (during the campaign) that the capture or death of bin Laden, and the defeat of al Qaeda, would be one of his administration’s highest priorities. There was also a discussion on Tuesday to prepare for a possible “terror attack” during the Presidential transition.

So, what is the reason for the bin Laden tape? Are we shortly going to hear that Laden’s body has been found, following some renewed efforts by Obama, providing some good PR. Or will there be some “attack” which enables the new President to respond in some “heroic” way?

One can’t help remembering the words of Colin Powell in October (last year), when endorsing Obama he said “The problems will always be there and there’s going to be a crisis which will come along on the 21st, 22nd of January that we don’t even know about right now”. Oddly enough, Joe Biden also talked about a “guarantee” of a “generated crisis” to “test the mettle” of the new leader within six months of the new presidential term.

What are these people cooking up for us this time?

Israeli PR – Black is White, White is Black!

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

When offering an opinion or advice, have you ever wondered where you obtained your “wisdom” to provide it? You may answer “It was MY wisdom, I thought of it MYSELF!” But did you? Did you really?

Much of the knowledge we have is obtained through personal experience, but the majority of it has been given to us by others. In most cases that is normal and the information is a necessary part of our lives (like reading and writing, or learning a skill to do a certain job).

However, a great deal of the information presented to us is not designed to help YOU, but to benefit OTHERS, but cleverly “packaged” to make you believe it was all your own idea.

Take the recent military action by the US backed Israel against the Palestinians in Gaza, is the US backed Israel right to take such strong action?

Actually, I wasn’t really asking a question, I simply wanted to give an example of how words can be “manipulated” to have a certain effect (“US backed”). I’m sure you have seen many pro-Israeli news articles that have used the phrase “Iran backed Hamas”? This is designed to give you the impression that Iran is behind all the killing we are seeing in Gaza. Once people have seen this often enough, they will automatically assume it is true. Chances are, if someone asks you why you believe that or where the information came from, you will probably respond “Are you stupid? Don’t you listen to the news?” In truth, you have absolutely no idea who provided the information in the first place and assume that if everyone is talking about it, it must be true!

These mind manipulating tactics are nothing more than brainwashing, there is no other way to describe them. We have all seen these methods used in advertising, encouraging us to buy a product that we don’t really need, but some organizations in Israel have taken this to a much higher level.

Although there are many organizations in Israel (and the US) that look to promote the country, I am going to single out just one to support my argument: The Israel Project.

First, let’s take a look at their “About TIP” page:

“The Israel Project (TIP) is an international non-profit organization devoted to educating the press and the public about Israel while promoting security, freedom and peace. The Israel Project provides journalists, leaders and opinion-makers accurate information about Israel. The Israel Project is not related to any government or government agency.

Our team of trusted Middle East experts and former reporters provides journalists with fact sheets, backgrounders and sources. TIP regularly hosts press briefings featuring leading Israeli spokespeople and analysts that give journalists an opportunity to get information and answers to their questions face-to-face. By providing journalists with the facts, context and visuals they need, TIP causes hundreds of millions of people around the world to see a more positive public face of Israel. This helps protect Israel, reduce anti-Semitism and increase pride in Israel.”

There is certainly nothing wrong in promoting the positive side of a country, many countries do this to attract tourists, and promoting peace is a fine goal indeed. But wait a minute……

Let’s take a closer look at “The Israel Project” and some of those involved.

The site mentions “Our team of trusted Middle East experts”. The team seems to be made up almost entirely of Jews who have very strong connections with Israel. Whilst I do not doubt for a moment that they are experts on Israel, simply studying the politics and cultures of another country, does not make you an expert on places like Iran, Lebanon, Syria or Egypt, you have to live and breathe the country for many years to claim that. And “trusted” by whom?

In reality, it is “The Israel Project” organization and its supporters who consider the staff “Middle East experts” and “trusted” Do other countries in the Middle East share this view?

The site also claims “The Israel Project provides journalists, leaders and opinion-makers accurate information about Israel.” Are we to understand that “if” the IDF were to carry out some atrocity (just for example), this information would be given to reporters? I don’t think so, do you? I don’t know any country that would willingly do that, and certainly not an organization whose number one purpose is to make Israel look good!

Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, the President and Founder of “The Israel Project” gives us a much clearer picture of what TIP (The Israel Project) is really all about.

On the site it says “Prior to starting The Israel Project, Mizrahi was the founder and president of Laszlo & Associates, Inc., a strategic communications and public policy company.” (Actually, it was a million-dollar political consultancy company) and that “she has worked on projects with the White House, President Clinton, Vice President Gore and dozens of U.S. Senators”. Mizrahi has been quoted as saying “We run The Israel Project the same way I would run a political campaign”

The Unexplained Explored

OK, let’s take a look at how the “campaign” is run exactly (the following information includes extracts from an article published by Mother Jones):

In 2007 Laura Sonnenmark, a focus group regular, was invited to take part in an assignment which she was told would involve something “political”. She discovered on arrival that the assignment was “to help test-market language that could be used to sell military action against Iran to the American public” According to Sonnenmark “The whole basis of the whole thing was, ‘we’re going to go into Iran and what do we have to do to get you guys to along with it?”

Whilst at the conference, Sonnenmark claimed “two fliers distributed at the focus group session bore the logo and name of Freedom’s Watch, a high-powered, well-connected group of hawks. This summer, Freedom’s Watch launched a $15 million ad campaign to support the escalation of troops in Iraq. It counts former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer and former deputy assistant to President Bush Bradley A. Blakeman among its leaders.”

The final 3 questions given by the focus leader (after about two hours) were:

1. How would you feel if Hillary [Clinton] bombed Iran?
2. How would you feel if George Bush bombed Iran?
3. And how would you feel if Israel bombed Iran?

The Mother Jones article then made the following statement:

“After an earlier version of this story attributing the focus group to Freedom’s Watch was posted, Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, the founder and president of the Israel Project, contacted Mother Jones and said that her group had commissioned the focus group and that it was designed by Public Opinion Strategies, a Republican polling firm…… Mizrahi says that her group and Freedom’s Watch share a common interest in “thwarting the threat of Islamic extremism” and in “dealing with the threat of Iran.” But Freedom’s Watch “in no way is directing our work, and it’s not funding our work.” She pointed out that the Israel Project is not “involved with Iraq,” a major concern of Freedom’s Watch. But the two outfits, she said, “shared information” produced by this focus group…..Mizrahi confirmed that Freedom’s Watch material was distributed to members of the focus group but insisted that ads from “lots of other groups” were handed out. “We test a lot of messages,” she said.”

Why would TIP commission such a focus group and ask how people would feel about Iran being “bombed” if she truly seeks peace?

I’d like to show a few statements/comments discovered in various articles over the years concerning TIP:

“The Israel Project launched a Press Ambassadors program that will train Israel advocates across America to serve as liaisons to local journalists and editors whose input shapes coverage of the conflict”

“As the founder of The Israel Project, Laszlo-Mizrahi focuses her efforts on improving the image of Israel and helping to mold pro-Israeli attitudes in the U.S.”

“Laszlo-Mizrahi uses up-to-date advertising and polling methods to affect the way opinion leaders and the media view Israel and its ongoing struggles.”

“The Israel Project has given Israel new tools in the battle to win the hearts and minds of the world” Shimon Peres

“What we see is that there are some messages that work, on Iran [for example] and some messages that don’t,” Laszlo-Mizrahi said. “We share [our] information with all of the political leaders across the political spectrum because they’re the ones being interviewed on television.”

A comment attributed to Mizrahi “75 percent of Americans with at least some knowledge about the Holocaust have warm feelings toward Jews.” – And I thought the purpose of promoting the Holocaust was to deter others from doing the same, not to create “warm feelings”

Mizrahi “In the past month I have been to more than a dozen Jewish communities, and everywhere I go I see signs and wristbands that say “Save Darfur.” Time and again I am touched that our people understand that tikkun olam includes taking care of others…But to be frank, if I go to yet another synagogue that has a sign about Darfur and nothing about the threat of Iran, I think my heart will break…Worry about Darfur? Yes. But why can’t we worry about Iran — perhaps the greatest threat to Israel ever?” – Sounds a little selfish, doesn’t it?

Mizrahi “There are those in the Jewish community who say that because Iran is a threat to far more than Jews and Israel, we should not make Iran a Jewish or Israeli issue. However, when non-Jews hear the president of Iran both deny the Holocaust and say he wants to wipe Israel off the map and then they don’t see the Jewish community rising up in protest, they wrongly conclude that Iran must not really be a threat.” – The President of Iran has not denied that the Holocaust occurred, but he questions some of the details. It has also been established that the “wipe Israel off the map” was a poor translation, he did not say that (but some like to keep using it because it suits their purpose. Good PR?). It’s also worth pointing out that Iran have not started a war in hundreds of years, can Israel say that?

Mizrahi “It is up to the Jewish community to do its part to educate American and European audiences about the frightening dangers posed by a radical regime in Iran aggressively pursuing nuclear weapons.” – According to US intelligence, they are not doing this. And why is it less frightening for Israel to have nuclear weapons, a country that is constantly at war?

Mizrahi “And Iran is attempting to build up Hamas and prepare it to wage the same kind of war against Israel that Hezbollah did.” – With homemade rockets, right!

Mizrahi “Iran could arm its missiles with nuclear warheads and fire them at Israel, as well as at European and Middle Eastern countries. Iran could share its nuclear weapons with Hezbollah, Hamas, Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups that seek to destroy Israel or to bring down the United States or Western civilization.” – Oh My God! And if my grandmother had wheels she would be a wagon!

“Mizrahi recommended that students emphasize the similarities between Americans and Israelis (without linking Israel too much with President Bush), avoid complicated explanations of Israel’s actions, and feel comfortable calling members of the press to push stories about Israel.”

“But Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, the Israel Project’s president, said, “it’s always been clear since the beginning that The Israel Project is about bringing more support for Israel.” And
“The Israel Project is just like AIPAC,” she said, referring to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a pro-Israel lobby.”

Executive Director, TIP Israel Operation: Marcus Sheff: “As a reserve officer in the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, Sheff was a prominent spokesperson for the IDF during all recent crises and trained senior IDF officers in media skills”

An interesting video: Media bias about the Israeli - Palestine conflict EXPOSED!

This is the longest article I have ever written (on any subject), but I feel it is necessary to cover as many areas as possible to explain the point I’m trying to make.

We can also ask ourselves WHY Israel feels it is necessary to spend so much time and money on forcing people to like it, what other country does that (or needs to)? Wouldn’t it be better to discover the reasons for the hatred, rather than trying to “buy” friends?

The most SERIOUS problem I see with the tactics being used is the backlash that ordinary Jews all over the world might face from all of this. We have already seen attacks on Jews in other countries because of the actions of Israel in Gaza, Jews that probably do not support it and just want to have a normal life. Thousands have demonstrated (including Jews) and the “public” feeling is that it is wrong!

For God’s sake, put an end to these “brainwashing” tactics, stop being so paranoid about Iran, swallow your pride and share the land with the Palestinians and let’s see some peace for a change. If you can do that, people won’t need to be forced to like you, it will happen automatically, of that you can be sure!

Throughout history Jews have frequently been the target for hatred, and why? Are people born with an inbuilt hatred of Jews? Of course not! There must be a reason and that reason is being repeated again today. It has nothing to do with religion, it is about a very small minority of Jews who crave power and control, an obsession that has always hurt their own people. Isn’t it time to change history and let the majority of Jews live in peace?

Sadly, the Israeli “PR” will probably block this message from reaching a wide audience and you can be sure numerous articles will appear to counter it (just in case). Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, founder and president of The Israel Project said “the organization supports free speech”, we shall see, won’t we.

World ignores Israel - Russia still the bad guys!

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

If further proof were needed of how biased world leaders have become and whose tune they dance to, we only have to look at the recent reaction to the gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukraine (along with Georgia) is one of the old Soviet states that the US would like to see join NATO. Unfortunately, just like Georgia (who attacked South Ossetia in the summer), they can’t seem to keep out of trouble.

Following a dispute over an unpaid debt and a disagreement over prices, Russia reduced and then later stopped the flow of gas through Ukraine. Prime Minister Putin said “Russia is ready to pay a market price for gas transit via Ukraine if Kiev pays a market price for supplies of Russian gas.” There have also been allegations that Ukraine has stolen “more than 86 million cubic meters of gas since the start of the year, but Kiev denied the accusations saying that Russia was trying to discredit Ukraine as a reliable gas transit partner.” However, it is a fact that Ukraine have sufficient reserves of gas to last until Spring!

Around 80% of Russia’s gas exports to Europe pass through Ukraine and this dispute has affected Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Bosnia, Italy, Poland, France, Slovenia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia.

According to the Times online “A senior US diplomat warned that NATO might have to intervene to help alliance members such as Bulgaria and Romania if the crisis drags on. “There is a commercial dispute at the heart of this, but this also has political overtones [because] we have seen Russia over time using such events to gain political leverage,” Kurt Volker, the US Ambassador to NATO, said.”

It is uncertain why the US are interfering with a dispute that concerns Europeans, they are more than capable of dealing with a problem like this without the help of NATO, which will only make matters worse. Perhaps the US response has “political overtones” as well?

The United States has invested a lot of time and money into Ukraine and Georgia, with the intention of getting them to side with the West (meaning the US). The “tie chewing” President of Georgia (Saakashvili) has already made a mess of one plan, with his ill advised war, and President Viktor Yushchenko of Ukraine (who likes to spend the US investment on himself and his family) is being shown the door! There is no way these “unstable” countries could possibly be admitted to NATO.

What is perhaps more interesting is the US response to a “commercial” dispute that does not involve the military and so far has cost no lives. Yet when asked to put pressure on Israel for a ceasefire, in a war that has cost (according to reports) more than 700 Palestinian lives, they do nothing. In fact, they do worse than nothing, they veto any attempts by others to put pressure on Israel, something they have done 42 times (for Israel) in the last 36 years!

Not only Palestinians are getting killed in this war, 5 Israeli’s have lost their lives (4 believed to be from “friendly fire”) and more recently 2 UN contractors were killed by an Israeli tank shell during an official suspension of hostilities. The 2 forklift drivers were killed when the convoy of aid was targeted. The convoy was clearly displaying UN flags and livery. The Israeli army had also been notified of the route of the convoy beforehand.

Either the IDF targeted the convoy on purpose, or they are not as accurate and careful in their aim as many claim, which makes you wonder about all the other deaths.

Despite all of this, there are still many articles written that are determined to paint the Palestinians in Gaza as some household pest that needs exterminating. We repeatedly hear about the old “Arab trick” of taking photos of people pretending to be dead, human shields and even the use of Photoshop! One minute these people are “uncivilized” suicide bombers and the next they are computer nerds? Yet the fact remains that many hundreds ARE dead, so even if by some ridiculous chance half of those numbers were faked or the result of “Photoshop”, it is still a lot of people!

I also heard an interesting comment in one article that suggested that the Palestinian’s who voted for Hamas should share the blame (basically saying that they should be considered terrorists as well). That’s an interesting point of view. Does that mean all the people who voted for Bush are also responsible for the deaths of those in Afghanistan and Iraq? Let’s not forget the invasion of Iraq was illegal and should never have taken place, thousands of US troops would still be alive today if it wasn’t for the lies created by their government. And still, after all these years, there are many thousands of troops still there risking their lives every day, for a war they should not be in. They should be at home with their families and loved ones, defending the country that they signed up to serve.

The real terrorists in this world are the politicians who manipulate the governments of other countries, create the wars and then supply the weapons to enable people to kill each other. Would Israel be doing what they are now if their military strength was equal to their neighbors? Isn’t it possible they might be more interested in finding a peaceful solution, if they weren’t armed to the teeth and carrying 300 nuclear weapons (courtesy of the US)?

If we want to stop wars and see some peace in this world, we need to choose our leaders more carefully, so in that respect maybe we are all to blame? Unfortunately, we are unlikely to see any “change” when Obama takes the reins, he has already promised his loyalty to Israel. Business as usual!

Latest Score: Gazans 600, Israelis 5 (4 from “friendly” fire)

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

No, this is not the latest score of some football match, and the higher numbers do not mean that one side is doing better than the other!

The title of this article is designed to emphasize how one sided the Gaza conflict is. We can not be absolutely sure about the Gazan deaths, but the figure of 600 does not sound too far off the mark. However, we can be sure that the Israeli figures are 100% correct. This excludes the countless injuries, which are probably equally lopsided.

Of the 5 Israeli’s that have been killed, at least 3 (and almost certainly 4) were the result of “friendly fire”. This means (as far as we can tell) that the killing ratio is actually 600 to 1 (so far).

I’m obviously not suggesting that this should be more, I would rather see zero casualties on both sides, but it gives a very clear picture of how “disproportionate” this battle is.

Some have called this attack a “Palestinian Holocaust”, and in many ways it is. The Gaza Strip is like a huge prison camp and the people are not allowed to leave. They have not received sufficient food or water, or medical assistance and the seriously injured are faced with a slow death. Doesn’t this sound familiar?

Of all the people on this planet, you would think the Israeli’s know better than anyone else what it is like to be imprisoned, starved and killed. It seems not?

Perhaps Israel feels that the endless reminders of “their” holocaust and the numerous memorials all over the world are not enough, and they need to provide us with a practical demonstration of how it was? Could it be they really don’t see how outrageous this is, or is it, as some have suggested, a simple case of not giving a damn?

And as the killing continues, the rest of the world sits on its hands and pretends to be concerned.

Of course, when Israel has had its fill and feels that the mission has been “Accomplished”, we will start to hear talk about a ceasefire and French President Sarkozy (and probably Tony Blair) will appear on the scene to take the glory for ending a conflict that has already finished!

The United States and most of Europe are powerless to intervene, because they know that Israel will do whatever it wishes without any repercussion, and a price will have to be paid by anyone who even considers it.

Do you think I exaggerate? Richard Falk, the UN Human Rights Council Special Rapporteur on the occupied territories, has condemned Israel for its actions in Gaza. As a result he was held for 20 hours and then denied entry to Israel (and he is Jewish!).

David Icke has, in his own special way, explained his views on the Israeli situation with his newsletter: “Time To Tell The Truth About Israel …

Unfortunately, because the mainstream media and others supportive of Israel have told us that it is bad, wrong and very naughty to be critical of Israel, most of the public immediately brand those issuing the criticism as “anti-Semitic” or “Jew Haters”.

Sadly, because this “brainwashing” is so effective, very few actually read the articles in question to find out for themselves whether it is fair criticism, or really anti-Semitic comments. It is almost as if some harm will fall upon a person if he/she even dares to glance at such information and it is the same kind of fear created by the KGB in Soviet times.

If people were to find the courage to read some of the articles available on the internet, they would discover that most of them are not attacking Jews, but “Zionists” (which are not always Jewish). This is an important difference, but something that many try to make a single issue. By making people believe that an attack on a Zionist is the same as attacking a Jew, the real culprits obtain a very powerful shield. It is the Zionist leaders of Israel who are to blame for the excessive force being used in the Gaza, not Jews in general.

We have seen many in Israel protest against the attack on Gaza, which is solid proof that many Israeli’s do not automatically support their government and therefore do not always think the same. Are these people “anti-Semitic” or “self-haters”? Of course not! They are people who want to live in peace, just like any other normal person.

I do not support the tactics used by Hamas, but these are desperate measures by desperate people. If the world “encouraged” the Israeli leaders to discuss a possible solution with Palestine, instead of demanding one at the end of a gun, maybe a compromise can be reached. Unfortunately, we all know how Israel hate that word, but sooner or later that is what will be required, if they truly want peace.

The only other solution is to kill every last Palestinian man, woman and child, and they seem to have made a good start on that option.

I was going to post a link to some photos showing the children who have been killed or badly injured in the attack on Gaza, but what’s the point? Those of you who believe them will be horrified by the images, and those that don’t will assume its more “Arab” theatricals and they are only pretending to be dead to get our sympathy. Maybe all the destroyed buildings seen in the photos are also an illusion and Hamas purposely turned them into rubble because it was good press? Or maybe something really terrible is happening there and some of us are no longer human enough to care anymore?

US support for Israel in Gaza – Reminders of the USS Liberty attack

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Although most world leaders are trying to encourage Israel to halt its military action in the Gaza Strip (some more enthusiastically than others), the US seems evermore determined to show its support and recently blocked a UN Security Council Action on Gaza.

The UN General Assembly president, Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann, criticized the US for protecting Israel over the years from meeting its obligations under various UN resolutions to end its occupation of Palestinian lands.

As a result of many biased reports in the Mainstream Media, who most know lean in the direction of the government and their policies, the public are being “brainwashed” into supporting Israel as well. This tactic was used very effectively after the 9/11 attack and a very strong hatred for anyone (or anything) remotely “Arab” in nature has developed.

Just recently 9 Muslims were removed from a plane for saying something “inappropriate”. Had these people been well dressed white folks and not dressed in more traditional Islamic clothing, the other passengers would have either ignored the comment or taken it as a joke. To assume that all “Arabs” are potential terrorists, is a bit like assuming all Blacks were born in Africa and that all Aids victims are homosexual!

Perhaps those who have written articles (or sent comments) suggesting that Hamas deserve everything they are getting and should be killed, might want to take a look at this video “The attack on the USS Liberty” (there is also a video there of a boat rammed by the Israeli Navy).

The “Liberty” video provides accounts of the attack by Israel on the ship presented by some of the survivors. It lasts about one hour, but I urge you to try and watch it all as it has relevance to what is happening today. Israel claim it was an “accident” and thought the Liberty was an Egyptian ship (much smaller), but the US flag was clearly visible and there could be no mistaking it was an American ship. Yet it was subjected to the fiercest attack imaginable by air and sea, with the clear intention of sinking the ship and leaving no survivors!

The Liberty managed to send a distress signal and planes were launched to assist, but these were recalled following instructions from Washington. Some of the survivors believe the attack was to stop the Liberty from monitoring the action of the Israeli’s in their “pre-emptive” strikes on Egypt, Jordan, Syria and the Gaza Strip (The Six Day War). However, watch the video yourself and then decide whether you think the US government (or yourself) is doing the right thing by not offering any criticism of Israel’s actions.

I’m not saying that Hamas are free of blame, of course they are not, do they honestly think they have any chance against the Israeli armed forces? But why does Israel feel it is necessary to take such strong action against the people in the Gaza who are short of food, water and other essential supplies. Hamas are no match for Israel.

It has been suggested that others might (or should) help those in Gaza (perhaps Hezbollah, or maybe even Iran), but could the attack on Gaza be designed to do just that, in order to provide an excuse to widen the conflict? There is very little support for an attack on Iran, mainly because the “talk” of them building nuclear weapons can not be proved. However, should Iran get involved in the conflict, Israel, and probably the US, may feel that is sufficient grounds to make a strike and receive world support?

Although some claim to know what is going on in the Gaza Strip, in reality we just don’t know. The only reports being received are from Palestinians and we can not be sure of their accuracy, and those issued by Israel (which may not be that accurate either). As far as we know, more than 460 Palestinians have been killed and perhaps 2,000 wounded (up to Saturday) and 3 Israeli’s killed. Unfortunately, the Israeli military has prevented foreign journalists from entering the Gaza Strip making it difficult to verify this.

In one report we hear that the Israeli forces have been dropping leaflets telling residents to evacuate their homes “for their own safety”, but where should they go? The border between Gaza and Egypt is blocked and Israel is not allowing them to leave!

Some question why Egypt does not open its borders to Gaza and accept refugees, but perhaps they too are frightened of the consequences? They perhaps remember how their Air Force was wiped out by Israel in 1967.

This latest conflict is no longer just about rockets being fired at Israel, it is about the excessive use of force against an opponent that has no hope of defending itself and the humanitarian that is sure to result. Israel have asked, and been given, sympathy and understanding for the suffering Jews received in the Holocaust. The world is now asking for the same treatment for the people in Gaza, what’s your answer going to be Israel?

The following extract is from the Israel Defense Forces site:

Human Dignity - The IDF and its soldiers are obligated to protect human dignity. Every human being is of value regardless of his or her origin, religion, nationality, gender, status or position.

Amen to that. Let’s hope these are not just words.

Earthquake activity seen worldwide!

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Although earthquakes happen everyday at some point on the planet, the seismic activity in the last 24 hours has been very high.

In Pakistan late Saturday (local time) a 5.9 magnitude quake was felt and others have appeared in Russia, Japan and Argentina.

There was even a small 2.4 magnitude earthquake near Dillsburg, York County, Pennsylvania, and of course a large number have been seen at Yellowstone Park, the site of a supervolcano. Oddly enough, at the time of writing, the reports on seismic activity at Yellowstone have not been updated, even though quakes higher than magnitude 3.0 have occurred since the last entry. This might be due to staff availability over the weekend, or someone does not want the figures to be shown for some reason. Click Here to read my article on the recent quake activity at Yellowstone.

However, the largest earthquakes have happened more recently, near the North coast of Papua, Indonesia, with two quakes registering 7.6 and 7.5 on the Richter scale. A number of strong aftershocks followed.

The Indonesian Meteorology and Seismology Agency issued a tsunami alert but it was revoked within an hour after it was determined the epicenter was on land.

Apart from cut power lines and some damage to buildings, there have been no reports of deaths or injuries.

Indonesia is well known for earthquakes and volcanoes, and falls inside the Pacific “Ring of Fire”. A huge earthquake off western Indonesia caused the 2004 Asian tsunami that killed around 230,000 people.

Many are keeping a close eye on Yellowstone at the moment, even though the quakes there have not been that large. However, the location of the tremors is more worrying and there are fears that an eruption might be possible. The eruption of a supervolcano can affect the entire planet (depending on the size and duration). When such an eruption occurred at Lake Toba (Indonesia) about 75,000 years ago, the Earth was plunged into a volcanic winter, eradicating an estimated 60% of the human population.

The recent increase in earthquake activity may be a coincidence, but it makes you wonder whether something much worse is heading our way.

Israeli War and the armchair warriors!

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

If you surf the net you will find numerous articles covering the fighting between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Most of the Mainstream Media publish articles that are supportive of the action taken by Israel, while the remainder tends to be more sympathetic towards the people living in Gaza.

Locations are a factor. Countries in the Middle East (with a few exceptions) seem to disapprove of the force used by Israel, Europeans take a more neutral stance and whilst they too perhaps believe that Israel should stop, they are too “polite” to say. The United States has shown the most support for Israel and many would like to see Israel go even further.

The US response reminds me of the early feelings some had about the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Forums were full of racist remarks like “rag heads” and the general opinion was that all “Arabs” were backward Islamic terrorists that deserved to die.

It seems that things have not changed! The media brainwashing of the US public has succeeded again. As the pro-Israeli media in the US tell the readers their truth about the war, the public eagerly swallow it down like obedient children and then pass it on with great enthusiasm.

They don’t stop to think whether it may be true or not, because that would require some effort on their part, and besides, it’s only a bunch of “rag heads” so who cares anyway?

Considering there are so many different races, cultures and religions in the US, you would think most Americans would be more tolerant by now, but in reality many are still just one step away from being a fully fledged member of the KKK!

I suppose it’s not too surprising when you consider the prejudice thoughts of some of the leaders, like John McCain’s “Bomb, Bomb, Iran”, a man who swears like some cheap whore (even in public). And this guy was in the running to be President. Amazing!

Of course, many of those shouting for the death of citizens in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran and any other country that has “Arab looking” people, have never been in a war zone themselves and would probably need to change their underpants very quickly if they did (if they weren’t so busy puking their guts up!). But once they get on their computers, they are fearless warriors in shorts and sneakers, waving flags and spitting in the eye of “danger”

Are they worried about the possibility of a Third World War that might see the use of nuclear weapons? “Hell no! Bring it on!”

Of course, what they don’t quite understand is that even if they don’t get killed from the blast of a nuclear explosion, they will almost certainly die from the radioactive fallout afterwards (a much slower death), a fate that will probably face everyone on the planet.

And if you don’t believe, remind yourself of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident that happened in 1986 in the Ukraine (Soviet Union as it was then). This was not a bomb, but four hundred times more fallout was released than had been by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. The plume drifted over extensive parts of the western Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Northern Europe, and eastern North America. Large areas in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia were badly contaminated, resulting in the evacuation and resettlement of over 336,000 people. Thousands of people are expected to die from the cancer the fallout will cause.

Imagine a nuclear war and how those numbers would increase. Do you still want to “Bring it on”?

The people who write all these biased stories and those that help to promote them are doing more harm than anything Hamas could possibly do and are a disgrace to the human race. I wish people were able to judge situations for themselves, instead of blindly following the other sheep.

It may be of interest to know that one Israeli leader has said that if Israel goes down “we will take everyone else with us”. And with 300 nuclear weapons at their disposal (compliments of the US) they can do it! Do you still think it’s a good idea to support Israeli wars?

Israeli/Gaza reporting full of prejudice

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

There are three kinds of reporters, at least as far as the Israel/Palestine conflict is concerned. The first will be biased towards Palestine, the second biased towards Israel, and the third will try and write a reasonably balanced report that attempts to give both sides of the story.

As most of my articles are opinion based, I tell it as I see it personally. However, in saying that, I don’t intentionally twist the information I receive to make it more “sexy” for my views, and report the “facts” from what are supposed to be reliable sources. But as very few (if any) mainstream media outlets provide unbiased information, I tend to look at as many articles as possible in the hope of finding the truth somewhere in between.

In my experience of writing controversial articles, whether they involve Israel, George Bush or even Paris Hilton I have found the responses fall into two categories: Those who completely agree with my opinion, and those who completely disagree.

People are creatures of habit and frequently base their opinions on what they have heard from others, never stopping to wonder whether it might be right or wrong. How many times have you heard someone say “It must be true, I heard it on CNN!” (for example), but are some of the Mainstream News suppliers really that honest and without bias? Of course not!

Writing a news report without showing any bias is extremely difficult (very few can do it), you can always see what side the author favors. However, in an opinion based article we are entitled to do that, but it would still be nice if the author at least tried to show both sides of the argument.

Just lately I have been seeing reports that are so biased (from both sides) that I almost wish the internet would crash so that people’s minds are not poisoned by this rubbish!

I have just finished reading one (which I will not mention by name) that basically has this message: Hamas are wrong, Israel is right and you must not listen to any reports from the Palestinians because it will be all lies! Not once did the author mention anything negative about Israel, could they really be completely free of blame and mistakes? What sort of article is that? In fairness, I have also read similar articles promoting Hamas as right and not to listen to Israeli reports.

What I see in many biased reports is hatred and prejudice. Those supportive of Israel appear to have a strong hatred of Arabs, but this is perhaps not surprising as the MSM have promoted the idea that Arabs=Islam=Terrorists. Those who swing the other way (more supportive of Palestine) see Israel=Jews=Terrorists.

So who can we believe? My advice would be to completely ignore any article that places all the blame on just one side. It takes two to tango! A reader should look at every article with an open mind: Is the author using certain words to make one side look worse than the other? Are you reading the article in the hope of seeing something that supports your hatred and prejudice, or are you prepared to read it without making a conclusion beforehand?

In conflicts of this nature it is almost impossible to believe any report. Of course Hamas will milk any attack to the maximum, inflating casualties and perhaps even inventing situations that don’t exist. They too are looking for sympathy and this is the main weapon in their arsenal. It stands to reason that Hamas will want to report a high death toll for support, just as Israel will want to keep the figures low for the same purpose.

During the Battle of Britain, Britain would report much lower losses than actually occurred. This was to deceive Germany and also designed to keep British spirits as high as possible. Germany, on the other hand, would inflate the numbers to create a different illusion.

These tactics are not new, and both sides in a war do it. To believe that both sides can be blameless is very naive.

Unfortunately, what most people are missing in the Israel/Hamas conflict is the real cause. Everyone is so determined to blame one side or the other in this latest fight that they forget how it all started. Let’s try and remember that the Palestinians lived on that land for centuries before Israel declared independence 60 years ago. Thousands of Palestinians lost their homes and land as a result (without any compensation), how would we feel about that, if it happened to us?

How did the Native Indians in America react when they were being killed and having their land stolen from them? What about the Irish and Northern Ireland? Are the Palestinians any different? Is it because the media have made many of us think that all Muslims are terrorists that we don’t care? Where does all this hatred come from?

The reason Israel have been unable to find peace in the Middle East is because they are not welcome there, they are seen as a people who have taken (stolen?) the land from its rightful owners and are not prepared to consider sharing it. That is the problem.

Maybe Israel can learn something from the long running conflict seen in Northern Ireland? Many lost their lives in that conflict, and even though many British soldiers were killed, the British government didn’t carry out air strikes on the places where the IRA might be hiding (because this would have caused high civilian casualties). Eventually, the British (and those in Northern Ireland) realized that peace would never be obtained without talks, compromise and a plan to share the power.

If it can work for Northern Ireland, it can work for Israel too. Both sides need to understand that a solution will never be obtained with bombs, at some point they must talk and reach a settlement that is “mutually” acceptable to both sides. The discussion must be carried out without threats or conditions, peace should be the most important goal.

It would certainly help if more reporters were to promote this aspect, instead of letting their personal hatred add fuel to the fire. World leaders could also do more by treating all offenders in an equal manner, but this has not happened. We only have to compare the US reactions to Russia last summer and Israel today to see the difference. If someone is doing something wrong, no matter who they are (Hamas, Israel, Russia, United States, China, Georgia etc.) they should all be judged in the same way!
